1. Work-safe and kid-safe. Artistic nudity will not be ruled out immediately, but be forewarned.
2. The site is aiming for an affirmative and uplifting experience, so nothing too depressing, dark or scary.
3. We'd like artists who are fairly comfortable and proficient in the style/media they work in.
4. We're currently not looking for animated art or Flash presentations with sound (even if it can be muted).
5. We prefer files to be under 200kb, with 550 pixels as the maximum height and 500 pixels as the maximum width. These maximum dimensions may be subject to change. If you'd prefer us not to resize your image for you, just keep it within our recommended dimensions and it should be fine!

Some guidelines for writing submissions for card text:

1. Haiku, poetry, short stories, retellings of your favorite inspirational folk tales or myths.
2. Good spelling and nice grammar. Punctuation is also nice.
3. Content must be safe for kids and not contain vulgarity.
4. The work must be less than 300 words. We may consider longer, but please, nothing more than 500.
5. As above, we'd like submissions that are thoughtful and will pick up a reader's spirits. Humor is welcome!

Your Input and Other Submissions

We will accept your favorite inspirational quotes. You do not have to be the author of these. But keep the quotation length to about one sentence each. Provide the original author and source if possible so we can use it accurately.

We will accept your own created BlueGreenPlanet link graphics that you want to use on your site, and if you'd like anyone else to be able to use them also. (You may use the "Submit Image" form.)

Holidays or other days that you'd like included on our calendar. Give us the date, its significance, and if obscure, the holiday's origins if you know them. (We will also accept days like "Teacher's Day" or etc but these do fall on different dates in different countries, so please be patient while we may be trying to sort them out.) And yes, Talk Like a Pirate Day will be on our calendar.

An organization or charity you'd like us to include on our favorite links page.
