BlueGreenPlanet Cards is for people who care about the environment, who want peace, social justice, openness, sustainability and awareness in their daily lives.

BlueGreenPlanet is against needlessly exploiting the earth's resources for short-term commercial gain, against polluting our environment with chemicals and toxins, and against the pollution of our natural and cultural play spaces with commercial messages and conditioning from profit-driven corporations.

BlueGreenPlanet Cards are for artists, creative people and writers, dreamers, music-makers, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, grandfathers, grandmothers, friends, environmentalists, scientists, teachers, spiritualists, students, factory workers, service industry workers, for the troops, for airplane pilots, fishermen, astronauts, deep sea divers, pirates... BlueGreenPlanet Cards are for everyone.

BlueGreenPlanet Cards are for sharing art, sharing your thoughts, and for starting and making connections.

This site was conceived, set up and registered in late December 2005. An environmental discussion group prompted its founding when someone on the group asked about e-card sites, and I found myself wondering, not for the first time, why most of the sites online are chock-full of banner ads, pop-ups, require registration, and/or are noisy, too flashy and messy. And none of the sites I saw suggested had the kind of cards I really wanted to see.

Having the experience of producing art, designing websites and real cards, running an e-postcard page on my personal gallery, collecting quotations since my teens, writing and copyediting in a newspaper and small press, and reading voraciously on environmental and social topics, I decided to start the work of building this site, the site I wanted badly to exist online.

This site is first and foremost dedicated to the people trying to do good on this planet. May you always find inspiration wherever you look.
